about

Following on from Fish Go Deep's massive 'Dub Weapons' and K-Series' 'Excursion 1' on Bastardo Electrico comes the first in a series of various artist E.P.s, which as the title suggests will highlight the connection between Ireland and the worldwide electronic music community. This first instalment focuses on the Ireland-Belgium connection with tracks from Belgian artists Trish Van Eynde and Klaina, alongside Bastardo Electrico's Jamie Behan and Glenn Keohane representing for Ireland. First up Trish Van Eynde takes us on a deep trip to the heart of pure techno with 'Tokyo Groove', showcasing her love of Detroit and futuristic styles, with a trademark sound that has graced labels like FComm, Subject Detroit and MB Electronics amongst others. Bastardo Electrico label boss, Jamie Behan has been at the forefront of the Irish techno scene for the last decade, and is a member of DJ Bone's Subject Detroit family. Here he provides lush Detroit inspired melodies backed by frenzied arps and hi hats on 'Semiotics'. Staying in Ireland, Glenn Keohane aka K-Series is a shadowy figure on the Irish club scene, darting around the periphery and unleashing occasional timed sonic attacks on the techno populace. Here he does it again, with the funky, jacking and tribal 'Stepping'. Travelling back to Belgium, Klaina's excursions into different electronic music styles have brought him closer and closer to his search for deep inspirational atmospheric sounds. Driven by the need for experimentation, combining and creating his own sound, he serves up some driving Motor City electronics here with 'Lement Of The Night'. Support from Laurent Garnier, Luke Slater, Slam, Chris Finke, Rolando, Harri (Sub Club), Jamie Anderson, Lee Holman, Craig Richards, Mr. O (Detroit Grand Pubahs), Kevin Gorman, Clare Large (Intelligent Audio- UK), Gus Brown (Mixtape Records), Desy Balmer (Nice and Nasty).
